Located at the foot of the Dandanglika Mountain which separates China from Myanmar, Dulongjiang Town is a remote bordering area in the north of Nujiang Lisu Autonomous Prefecture. As a natural borderline, the Dandanglika Mountain is covered by snow from December to May the next year, which makes the two a sequestered place.

Over 20 unnatural deaths have had been reported in recent 5 years. Last year, 3 people of a household committed suicides for relationship problems, leaving two orphan sons to the guardianship of their 60-year-old grandmother.

There were many bachelors in town due to the enclosed location and the outmoded concepts. Tragedies and comedies about marriages were frequently reported.

The outside world has been increasingly influencing the village. The villagers need time to acclimatize themselves to the impact of exotic cultures and new thoughts. The local government is also doing their job.

From November 6 to 16, reporters went to Dulongjiang Town to investigate local’s living actuality through marriages status.
