Materials needed for the application of Residence Permit
by Foreigners investing or working in Kunming
and their family members



申请居留许可时，须回答有关询问并提供下列材料：When applying for the residence permit, applicants shall answer related questions and submit the following materials:
一、单位公函。Official letter issued by the recipient organization.
二、填写完整、准确、真实的《外国人签证、居留许可申请表》（须用蓝色或黑色的钢笔或碳素笔填写）。Completely and correctly filling out the Visa and Residence Permit Application Form with a black, blue pen or a carbon pen.
三、近期二寸正面半身免冠彩色照片1张（规格33mm×48mm，贴于申请表）。One latest, 33mm×48mm, bareheaded and full-face color portrait for the application form.
四、 有效护照原件及护照照片页、有效中国签证、本次入境章复印件。The original and photocopy of his/her valid passport, valid Chinese visa and seal of this entry.
五、 云南出入境检验检疫局（联系电话:7161994）出具的《国际旅行健康证明书》原件及复印件（已满18周岁且自入境之日起首次申请一年以上有效期居留许可的外国人才需提供；境外医疗机构出具的健康证明书须经云南出入境检验检疫局确认）。The original and photocopy of Health Certificate for International Traveler issued by Yunnan Administration for Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine (Tel: 716 1994). When applying for Residence Permit longer than one year for the first time, aliens at the age of 18 and upwards must provide their health certificates.
六、与居留事由相关的材料和证明：Relevant materials and identifications.
1、投资者提供：企业批准证书及复印件、经过年检的营业执照副本及复印件、《组织机构代码证》及复印件、《外国人就业证》或《外国专家证》及复印件。（个人在西部地区投资100万美元以上的不需要提供《外国人就业证》或《外国专家证》）Investors should submit the original and photocopy of Enterprise Approval Certificate, Duplicate of the annually-checked Business License, Organization and Institution Code Certificate and Employment Permit of Aliens or Foreign Experts Certificate. Aliens who have personally invested USD 1 million or more in West China do not need to provide the Employment Permit of Aliens or ForeignExperts Certificate.
2、任职和就业者提供：
《外国人就业证》（云南省就业局办理，联系电话：7195791、7195848）或《外国专家证》（云南省外国专家局办理，联系电话：3635220）或云南省文化厅以上主管部门批准的演出批件。如申请人是外国企业常驻代表机构人员，还需提供有效《外国（地区）企业常驻代表机构登记证》和《外国（地区）企业常驻代表机构工作证》。
Aliens employed by Chinese organizations should submit the Employment Permit of Aliens issued by Yunnan Provincial Bureau of Labor and Social Security (Tel: 719 5791; 719 5848); or Foreign Experts Certificate issued by the Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs of Yunnan Province (Tel: 363 5220); or the Document Approving Aliens to Give Theatrical Performances in the People’s Republic of China issued by the Ministry of Culture or by the Cultural Department of Yunnan Province. Aliens working in permanent representative offices of foreign enterprises should also submit the Registration Certificate of Foreign Enterprise’s Permanent Office in China and the Employee’s Card of Foreign Enterprise’s Permanent Office in China.
外商投资企业提供有效企业批准证书、营业执照副本和《组织机构代码证》原件及复印件；内资企业及其它涉外单位提供有效企业营业执照副本、《组织机构代码证》或其它相关单位登记证原件及复印件。
The “three-investments” enterprises, namely, the solely foreign-owned enterprises, Chinese-foreign joint ventures and cooperative enterprises must provide the original and photocopy of Enterprise Approval Certificate and Duplicate of the annually-checked Business License, as well as the Organization and Institution Code Certificate. The domestic capital enterprises and other organizations must provide the original and photocopy of valid Duplicate of Business License, Organization and Institution Code Certificate, or other related registration certificates.
注意：以下五类人员必须持职业签证（Z）入境，方可在公安机关申请居留许可：
Notice: When submitting application for the Residence Permit to China’s police authorities, foreigners in the following categories must enter China exclusively with the “Z” visa.
（1）企业聘请的普通管理和技术人员（副总经理以下，不含副总经理）。
Common foreign managers or technicians who rank lower than the deputy general manager (exclusive) employed by the enterprises.
（2）在事业单位工作的外国专家、外籍教师及其他管理和技术人员。
Foreign experts, teachers, managers or technicians employed by the Chinese institutions.
（3）在外国（地区）企业常驻代表机构工作的非代表人员。
Foreign employees (excluding the chief representatives) working in a foreign enterprise’s permanent office in China.
（4）在基金会、境外基金会代表机构中工作的外籍工作人员。
Foreign employees working in a foundation or the representative office of an overseas foundation.
（5）上述四类人员的父母、配偶及子女。
Family members (parents, spouse or children) of foreigners in the above-listed four categories.
3、随行父母、配偶及子女办理居留许可提供：投资者或就业者的居留许可及其复印件（被依附人和家属同时办理时，不用提供）；配偶还需提供结婚证明，父母和子女还需提供亲属关系证明，非英语证明须经专业翻译机构或公司译成汉语。The accompanying family members (spouse, parents and children) should submit the original and photocopy of the Residence Permit of the foreign investor or employee when they apply for Residence Permit separately. If they apply together, the materials mentioned above are not necessary. The alien’s spouse must provide the identification of marriage, the alien’s parents and children must provide the identification of family relation. Non-English identifications must be translated into Chinese by a qualified translation agency.
〔注意事项Notice〕：需复印的申请材料应用A4纸复印。Photocopies of documents should be made in the A4 format.

重要提示：Important:
一、您必须首先持有《外国人就业证》或《外国专家证》以及《外国人居留许可》以后方可在华就业。Foreigners are forbidden to take jobs in China without holding the Employment Permit of Aliens, or Foreign Experts Certificate and Foreigner’s Residence Permit.
二、如果您居留许可上的项目内容（姓名、居留事由、护照号码、偕行人等）发生变更，须于变更后10日内到我处办理新的居留许可。In case of changes of information specified in the residence permit (such as purpose of residence, passport number and accompanying persons), you must, within 10 days, apply for a new residence permit with the permit-issuing authority.
三、如果您的住址、就读院校、任职或就业单位等情况发生变化，须在变更后10日内到我处申请变更手续。In case of changes of information specified in your residence permit (such as address, university/college of study and place of work/employment), you must, within 10 days, register the changes with the permit-issuing authority.
四、您的居留许可期满后如需继续在昆居留,请于期满前办理新的居留许可。If you need to prolong your residence in Kunming, please apply for a new residence permit before the expiration date of your present residence permit.
五、您外出时要随身携带护照以备警方查验，离开常住地到其它地方临时住宿时，请于24小时（农村72小时）内到当地公安机关申报临时住宿登记（住旅店的由旅店代为申报）。Please carry your passport with you for possible examination by the police. If you lodge temporarily elsewhere than your registered residence, you should, within 24 hours of your arrival (72 hours in rural areas), report and register your accommodation with the local police station. However, such registration is not requested if you lodge at a hotel.
六、您所提供的申请材料和所填表格的信息应确保有效和真实，如提供虚假材料或申报信息不真实、不完整，会影响到您居留和出入境证件的获得。公安机关有权依法对申请材料和相关信息进行调查和核实，申请人和有关单位及个人有义务积极配合和协助。Your application materials and information filled in Visa and Residence Permit Application Form must be valid and true. False or incorrect materials and information would affect your acquisition of the residence and entry-exit permits. The police agency has the legal right and responsibility to investigate the materials and information you submit. During the investigation, the applicants, relevant agencies and individuals have the obligation to cooperate with the police.
