New judicial interpretation spawned heated discussions around the society up to now . The news are flooded with different comments and debates from all social sectors, especially young people getting married.
Prenups mentioned in the interpretation of Marriage Law, in a sense, protect the wealthy things between both sides, including his or her family. Then, on the other hand, women in poor family circumstance or depending on men are suffering a painfull challenge.
I don’t mind the perks of possessions or shift for ourselves or so-called independence as a modern female. Let’s talk about the real intent of the new interpretation.
The root problem the interpretation want to fix is not property division, but the social attitudes to marriage and love. The affections based on money will collapse into ruin sooner or later. As years go by, we, struggling desperately in this acquisitive society in which the craving for material things seems never satisfied, appeared to have lost the essential of life seeking for perfect love.
Although attitudes aren’t easy to transform only by a law, it gives us a start towards future harmony after all. I do believe in the existence of some gold-diggers, and I’m more convinced that most of us can build our wealth gradually, hand in hand with our life partners, through being diligent and effort.
